B2B lead lists: what a good one looks like

Every bad outreach campaign starts the same way: a wide, stale, unverifiable list. Here is how to judge a list before it costs you a sending domain.

Check 1: Can the vendor explain the sourcing?

A defensible list comes from public business directories and the companies’ own websites — and the vendor should say so in writing. Ours ship with a methodology page that states sourcing, filtering and the CAN-SPAM obligations that apply. If a vendor cannot explain where rows came from, assume the worst.

Check 2: Narrow beats big

Two hundred rows in one category, one buyer type and one region will outperform two thousand rows of “companies that might buy something.” Narrowness is what lets your outreach name the buyer’s actual business — the only personalization that works at B2B.

Check 3: Contacts you may actually mail

U.S. B2B cold email is legal under CAN-SPAM with real identity, a working unsubscribe and a physical address. The EU, UK and Canada run stricter regimes — which is why our lead lists are currently scoped to the U.S. market, and the order form says so upfront.

Check 4: Deliverability is part of the list

Dead mailboxes burn sender reputation. Ask what verification the vendor runs, and start any new list at low volume: if bounces spike early, stop and demand answers before your domain pays for it.

Lead lists are one of five deliverables in every Caliradi plan — sourced, formatted, and shipped with their methodology in writing.
